Yes, Edward Norton's Obama Doc Can!

Barack Obama
It was beginning to look like a laborious documentary tracking Barack Obama’s presidential campaign -- two-plus years in the making -- would never find a home. Then Obama won the presidency.

Following Tuesday’s landslide election, HBO has purchased the rights to the long-gestating, as-yet-untitled documentary from Edward Norton’s Class 5 Films company, which commissioned co-directors Amy Rice and Alicia Sams to follow Obama back in 2006.

Since then, Rice and Sams have been at Obama’s side, gaining unprecedented access to his road to the presidency -- from the former senator’s trip to Africa in 2006 to his Tuesday victory and beyond, as shooting will continue through the inauguration in preparation for a 2009 premiere.

Footage will include interviews with the new president-elect himself, as well as talks with Obama’s friends, family, senior campaign staff and volunteers.

Hulk star Norton, one of the doc's three producers, had this to say: "We believe this film will capture a tipping point in American history, when a new generation of leadership emerged and old prejudices were finally vaulted over."
