The rumors are true; Angelina Jolie will replace Tom Cruise in the upcoming thriller Edwin A. Salt.
The writers of the espionage flick, about a CIA officer fingered as a Russian spy, rewrote the lead character, originally meant for Cruise, when the mother-of-six expressed interest in the film. They also plan to rework the title to reflect the change. Jolie confessed the news to BBC Radio saying, “I’m working on a film called Salt. It’s with Phillip Noyce (Bone Collector). And that’s it.”
The actress recently told reporters she plans to “fade away” from the acting biz in the years to come.
