Emma Thompson Knows Nanny McPhee Is Ugly: Late Last Night
Most of our Late Night crew was busy holed up in their bomb shelters last night after hearing George Clooney and Angelina Jolie were planning to play Sinatra and Monroe in an upcoming movie, so we only have Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to chat about this morning.
Jon Stewart talked about a major controversy that’s going on right now in NYC, which is the development of a mosque near Ground Zero. President Obama voiced his support of the build on the stance of our country’s firm beliefs in religious freedom, but then he kind of said something else that possibly, might have, maybe, a little bit could be considered a contradictory statement.
Emma Thompson talked about her new movie, Nanny McPhee Returns. After weaving in and out of a few accents, she explained why Nanny McPhee is so horrible looking, and it’s because Mary Poppins was so pretty that it was deceptive, because English people really look like mushrooms.
And Stephen Colbert pointed out now that same-sex marriage is legal in Mexico and Canada, we look like the party poopers who refuse to wear boas around our necks and don't want to indulge in any of the complimentary puff pastries.
