HOLLYWOOD - Britney Spears' former bodyguard has praised a judge's decision to hand over custody of her two sons to their father Kevin Federline.
Federline was awarded 'physical custody' of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, in a closed-court hearing on Monday.
Tony Barretto, who recently testified against the singer during her custody battle with Federline, claims the news "saddens" him, but he's confident it's the best decision for the children.
The minder told talk-show host Larry King on Monday night, "I think that I was shocked, saddened. It's a very sad issue all the way around. I'm happy that the kids will have some stability in the future here. I'm mixed with emotions at this point.
"I'm scared for her. I really hope her staff really keeps a close eye on her."
Barretto is confident his testimony that he saw Spears under the influence of alcohol and drugs, while looking after her kids, helped to sway the judge's decision.
He told King, "I think it had some weight. I'm happy that it did influence his decision. And I think he made the appropriate decision."
