Exhausted "Time Machine" director quits

HOLLYWOOD - Rookie director Simon Wells, who had less than three weeks left of shooting on the DreamWorks film The Time Machine, quit the project due to extreme fatigue, the studio announced Thursday. Director Gore Verbinski (The Mexican) was tapped to complete the project. "Our first concern is for Simon's health, so we are very pleased that Gore was able to come in and pinch hit," said DreamWorks' co-head Walter Parkes.
