Hollywood - The photogenic former co-stars of I Know What You Did Last Summer are now committed to be joined forever in holy matrimony. Freddie Prinze Jr. (Wing Commander, She's All That) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (Simply Irresistible, Cruel Intentions, TV's Buffy the Vampire Slayer) got engaged this past weekend, Prinze's publicist confirmed Tuesday. The couple has been linked romantically since March 2000.
"Yes, they are engaged, and they are very much in love," said Leslie Sloan, Prinze's publicist at BWI.
A date for the wedding has not yet been set.
This will be the first trip down the aisle for both Prinze, 25, and Gellar, 24.
Gellar initially denied all reports romantically linking the pair.
"I tend to date out of the business, which makes it that much harder," Gellar recently told TV Guide. "I try not to date actors, because I know how insecure and crazy we are. I can't imagine going out with another one of me."
The duo will co-star in the upcoming release of Scooby Doo, scheduled for a 2002 premiere.
