Morgan Freeman Making Movie History

11th Annual SAG Awards
HOLLYWOOD - Actor Morgan Freeman is making movie history by creating and starring in a feature film that will be released in theatres the same day it's available for Internet downloading.

The movie, 10 Items or Less, is the first film to be made by the actor's production company, ClickStar.

Spanglish actress Paz Vega will co-star and Brad Silberling, who directed Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, is also on board--to direct.

On the surface, the movie will be like any other feature film that is released in cinemas, but within 30 seconds of logging onto the ClickStar website and selecting "buy", the movie can be downloaded to a home computer.

Freeman is taking on the project to stay one step ahead of pirates, who illegally share files and steal copyrighted movies and content.

He explains, "This kid came up with Napster, and before that, none of us thought of content protection. "The studios are not going to do it until someone proves it will work. So that's what we'll do."
