'Friends' Star LeBlanc Heads Back To Small Screen

Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani in "Friends"
Former Friends star Matt LeBlanc is hoping to make TV audiences laugh again with a new comedy -- three years after the actor's spinoff series flopped.

LeBlanc will play himself in Episodes -- a comedy about the television industry.

The show will follow a husband-and-wife producing team whose hit comedy on British TV is turned into a dumbed-down American sitcom starring the actor.

LeBlanc made Friends fans laugh as Joey Tribbiani for a decade, but failed to find success with his spinoff series Joey, which was cancelled in 2006 after two seasons.

Episodes will begin shooting in London and Hollywood this winter. The program is set for a 2010 debut on Showtime and the U.K.'s BBC Two.
