Friends finale is top 'tear-jerker'

The conclusion of the tenth season of the hit U.S. show, starring Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox, aired in 2004 and showed the group turning in the keys to the apartment which was the main focus of the sitcom during its decade-long run.

The Friends conclusion has come top of a British survey for Freeview HD to find the most emotional moments in TV, while the final episode of U.K. comedy Blackadder Goes Forth came second.

The top 10 also featured Anthony Edwards' exit from ER in 2002 when his character, Dr. Mark Greene, died after a battle with brain cancer, and a gritty episode from British show Cold Feet in which Helen Baxendale's character was killed in a car crash.
