Gene Hackman Reportedly Airlifted to Hospital After Bike Accident

TMZ is reporting that legendary actor Gene Hackman, whose lengthy resume includes such classic films as The French Connection, Superman, and Hoosiers, was airlifted to a hospital today after being hit by a car while bicycling in the Florida Keys. Hackman was released a few hours later after being treated for what were deemed "bumps and bruises," and, according to the actor's PR rep, is doing "fine."

Hackman was last seen on the big screen in the 2004 comedy Welcome to Mooseport, after which he promptly retired from acting. We can hardly blame him.
