Gibson Booed for Altering Anthem

Tyrese Gibson stunned sports fans while singing the national anthem at a recent basketball game by changing the song's lyrics to root for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Singer/actor Gibson took to center court to belt out the "Star Spangled Banner" as the Lakers prepared to take on the Denver Nuggets at the Staples Center arena in L.A. on Wednesday.

The California native took the opportunity to pay tribute to his home team -- altering the patriotic tune's lyrics from "our flag was still there" to "our Lakers were still there."

Gibson's switch-up was met by a mix of booing and cheers but his encouragement seemed to work -- the Lakers won 103-94.
