HOLLYWOOD - Mel Gibson is set to help the native Indians of Costa Rica by donating funds to the country's leading organizations.
The actor-turned-filmmaker, who recently bought a house in the Guanacaste area of the Central American country, met with President Oscar Arias on Monday to determine the best way to distribute finances amongst the region's native citizens.
President Arias says, "He wants to help the indigenous population here and wants to know how to channel the funds."
The Apocalypto director plans to return to Costa Rica next month to make the donations.
