HOLLYWOOD - Rotten Tomatoes (RottenTomatoes.com), the trusted online source for gauging the critical reaction to movies, announced selections for the 7th Annual Golden Tomato Awards, with George Clooney’s Good Night, and Good Luck claiming 2005’s Best Reviewed film.
Based on a tally of 169 reviews of the country's top print, broadcast and online film critics, the McCarthy-era drama took not only the Best Reviewed award, but Best Limited Release and Best Drama as well.
"From Killer Tomatoes to Golden Tomatoes, it has been quite a ride," director and star of 1988's Return of the Killer Tomatoes George Clooney said.
The Golden Tomato for Best Wide Release Film was awarded to DreamWorks and Aardman Studio's Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, the animated tale about a cheese-obsessed inventor and his faithful companion.
Other big winners include Universal Pictures' The 40 Year-Old Virgin for Best Comedy, Warner Independent Pictures' March of the Penguins for Best Documentary, and Sony Pictures Classics' Kung-Fu Hustle for Best Foreign Film.
