Harrison, neighbors settle lawsuit
HOLLYWOOD - George Harrison can rest easy knowing that a path running through his Maui, Hawaii, estate to the Pacific Ocean will be closed to the public. Harrison and his neighbors have agreed to a settlement that allows the singer privacy while prohibiting anyone to use the path nearby his home, according to The Associated Press. The dispute began in the 1990s after the ex-Beatle objected to his neighbors using the path nearby his house. His neighbors were upset because the trail would provide access to Kapukaulua Point and the ocean, and filed a lawsuit. Up until last year, Harrison was letting residents use the path until he discovered some were sneaking nonresidents through in order to see his home.
