Josh Hartnett as Danny Walker in Pearl Harbor
Hollywood - Pearl Harbor star Josh Hartnett told Us Weekly magazine he hesitated taking the part of Danny Walker when it was first offered to him. Hartnett, who recently starred in The Virgin Suicides and Blow Dry, said he was freaked out at the prospect of being in such a big movie. The actor originally wanted to be an artist and, after coming to New York in 1996, did some acting, painting and writing before eventually enrolling at the theater conservatory at the State University at Purchase. Raised in St. Paul, Minn., the 22-year-old actor will star in Miramax's upcoming film O, a modern high school version of Othello.
