David Hasselhoff and Pamela Bach Divorce

HOLLYWOOD - David Hasselhoff and Pamela Bach have officially ended their marriage after 16 years together.

The former Baywatch star, 54, filed for divorce from the 42-year-old actress/singer on Jan. 12, citing "irreconcilable differences."

The couple soon embarked on a war of words in the courts and the media, with Bach accusing Hasselhoff of verbal and physical abuse and the actor alleging his estranged wife was abusing prescription drugs.

Bach attempted to secure a restraining order against Hasselhoff in March, but her request was refused.

The pair were awarded joint custody of their two daughters Taylor Ann, 16, and Hayley Amber, 13, by a Los Angeles court in May.

Bach's lawyer Bret Hunter confirmed the couple's divorced was finalized yesterday.

In a statement, Bach says, "I've always loved him and always will, and have love and compassion for him. It's a very, very sad day, but a day to move on."

The pair still have outstanding matters in their divorce battle which will be discussed at a court hearing in October.

The same day his divorce was granted, Hasselhoff was barred from boarding a flight from London to Los Angeles because he was "deemed unfit to travel." Onlookers claim the actor seemed drunk but was in high spirits.
