Hawthorne smeared
HOLLYWOOD - Sir Nigel Hawthorne has become the victim of a smear campaign, the BBC reported. Banners were posted throughout Hawthorne's estate calling him a liar and warning people to keep away. Hertfordshire police issued a formal warning to Hawthorne's former gardener, Roy Breaker-Rolfe, but he told the Daily Mail newspaper that he was not responsible. Breaker-Rolfe is reportedly embroiled in a civil dispute with Hawthorne. Neighbors in Hawthorne's Hertfordshire village have taken down a majority of the posters in his defense, claiming to like the 72-year old actor.
