Hayden Panettiere's Dad Arrested Over 'Wife Beating'

HOLLYWOOD - Hayden Panettiere's father Alan has reportedly been arrested over claims he assaulted his wife.
Fire department lieutenant Panettiere was arrested on a felony count of domestic violence in the early hours of Monday morning, August 11.
He is accused of striking the actress' mother, former soap star Lesley, according to TMZ.com.
West Hollywood Sheriff's were called to the Panettiere's West Hollywood residence around 3 AM, Monday morning after a "difference of opinion" between the couple led to a fight, a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Department told Access Hollywood.
The spokesperson said that while at a party earlier in the night, an incident occurred where Alan felt Lesley disrespected him. He allegedly hit Lesley on the cheek more than once, the spokesperson said.
The incident reportedly occurred following a row at a Los Angeles restaurant earlier in the evening. The website also reports that Panettiere is currently being held on $50,000 bail.
