HOLLYWOOD - Paris Hilton has beaten more than 30 actresses to land a role in an upcoming musical thriller.
The socialite, actress and singer will star alongside Spy Kids' Alexa Vega and Goodfellas actor Paul Sorvino in Repo! The Genetic Opera.
The 26-year-old, who will sing in the futuristic movie, which contains musical numbers ranging from rock to opera, impressed filmmakers with her voice.
Director Darren Lynn Bousman, best known for the Saw horror movie sequels, says, "I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role--Paris came in and owned it. She is this role."
Hilton recently teased about the role, stating, "I've been rehearsing every day, seven hours a day. We're just in the studio. We're doing dance and singing. We go shoot next month in Toronto... It's very cool and unique project."
