Actress Katie Holmes is in mourning following the tragic death of her brother-in-law, according to a new report.
Joseph Jeffrey Fretti, the husband of Holmes' eldest sister Tamera, was found dead on April 12 in his mother Shirley's home in Sarasota, Florida. He was 48.
A cause of death has yet to be determined, but medical examiner Russell Vega tells RadarOnline.com that foul play or suicide is unlikely.
Fretti, the owner of a funeral home in Toledo, Ohio, had taken his two children to visit their grandmother.
Tamera did not accompany her husband on the trip but has since flown to Florida to bring the kids back to the family home in Ohio.
Holmes is expected to attend a funeral for Fretti in Toledo's Gesu Church on April 20.
