Hoskins hides awards in closet
The Long Good Friday star was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar in 1987 for his role in Mona Lisa, and he has scooped various honours during his 38-year career, including Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival in 1986.
But he's adamant the accolades mean very little to him.
He tells Live magazine, "I've got loads of awards, and they're all tucked away in a cupboard. Nah, they're not important.
And he insists he'd turn down the ultimate honour from Queen Elizabeth II, if she wanted to make him a Sir: "A knighthood? You got to be joking. I wouldn't know who I was. I would wake up in the morning and go, Sir who? Sir 'Oskins!... I'd turn it down."
