Huffman Picked for Palm Springs Honor

HOLLYWOOD - Actress Felicity Huffman has been selected to receive the breakthrough performance award at California's 17th annual Palm Springs Film Festival for her turn in sex-change movie Transamerica.
Jake Gyllenhaal, Terrence Howard, Charlize Theron, Shirley MacLaine, David Cronenberg and Michael London will also be feted at the Jan. 7 awards gala.
Emmy-winning Desperate Housewives star Huffman has already received the National Board of Reviews's actress prize and a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the film.
