HOLLYWOOD - A galaxy of celebrities including Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Eminem, 50 Cent and Oprah Winfrey have been subpoenaed to appear at a racial profiling trial in Detroit, Michigan.
In a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, MurderCap Records boss Jerome Almon accuses Canadian officials of holding black rappers at the U.S./Canada border because they blame the musicians for both increased gang activity and gun violence in Toronto and Vancouver.
Other famous names to have been called up include DMX, Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Spike Lee, Tom Sizemore, porn star Jenna Jameson, Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, lifestyle queen Martha Stewart, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her predecessor Colin Powell.
Almon explains to Web site TMZ.com, "The white celebrities have been directed to appear, in order to show the hypocritical nature of Canadian policy toward rappers.
"Some of the white celebrities have far worse (criminal) records than these rappers, but are still allowed to enter Canada with the red carpet rolled out."
