'Idol' Winner David Cook Scores Chart-Debut Record

HOLLYWOOD - American Idol winner David Cook will break pop chart records in the U.S. on Thursday when 11 of his songs debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

But Cook will miss out on a No. 1--the original song he sang in the Idol finale, “The Time of My Life,” is estimated to enter the new countdown at three on the main chart, but will top Hot Digital Songs tally, where 14 of his tunes will debut.

Cook's takeover of the Hot 100 shatters the mark set by Miley Cyrus in November 2006, when she debuted six songs on the chart.

His feat is the greatest chart haul since data company Nielsen started tracking the chart in 1991.

The Beatles still own the record for the most songs on the chart in any one week--they scored 14 hits on the Hot 100 in April 1964.

But no artist has scored 11 debuts on the chart in the same week.
