Inevitable Protest Hits Jim Carrey Movie

HOLLYWOOD - You knew it was coming the minute the posters -- the ones with the tag line, "From Gentle to Mental" -- went up. And so it has come to pass that a mental illness advocacy group is launching what it says is a "national protest" against the upcoming Jim Carrey comedy, "Me, Myself & Irene." The movie opens June 23. And you'd have to be crazy -- er, box-office challenged? -- to think detractors will keep it from bowing at No. 1.

Still, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill will keep up the fight, accusing the filmmakers -- the Farrelly Brothers ("Dumb & Dumber") -- of belittling schizophrenia.
