J.J. Abrams and 'Supernatural' Creator Developing 'Revolution': An Adventure-Thriller Series

J.J. AbramsJ.J. Abrams can't stop making shows. He's got his Big-Brother-is-watching action-thriller Person of Interest which premiered last week, his haunted penitentiary mystery-thriller Alcatraz to debut sometime in 2012, and not to mention his FBI scifi-thriller Fringe, which just entered its fourth season. Plus, there's the little business of a Star Trek sequel that he'll be directing. But is Abrams still unsatisfied with his productivity? To borrow a Geico advertizing gimmick: do black smoke monsters hold grudges?

Abrams is currently on board for yet another television project: Revolution. The pilot for this new series will be written by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, and is being billed as an "epic adventure-(wait for it...)-thriller."

This is all pretty good news. The Person of Interest premiere had its strengths and showed promise. Fringe has maintained an air of quality over the past few years. And while we weren't big fans of Alcatraz, it does star Hugo Reyes. And Everybody Loves Hugo. So, we can think positive for Revolution. Sooner or later, something J.J. does will wow us to levels of amazement. Just like old times...
