Jack Lemmon dead at 76


LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Two-time Oscar winner Jack Lemmon, whose films ranged from the comedic Some Like It Hot to the darkly haunting Days of Wine

and Roses, has died after a long battle with cancer, it was reported today.

He was 76.

Lemmon, who also will be remembered for his roles opposite the late Walter Matthau, died at about 10 p.m. Wednesday at the USC Norris Cancer Center, his

publicists at Warren Cowan & Associates said. At his bedside were two of his

children and his wife, actress Felicia Farr, who he married in 1962 after the

breakup of his marriage to Cynthia Stone.
