HOLLYWOOD - Pulp Fiction star Samuel L Jackson is set to be honored for his commitment to education, both on film and in real life.
Director George Lucas will present Jackson with the I Have a Dream Foundation's Dream Keeper Award at the organization’s eight annual gospel brunch at Los Angeles' House of Blues next month.
In recent movie Coach Carter, Jackson, who celebrates his 57th birthday on Wednesday, played a basketball coach who benched his undefeated team because of their slipping academic grades.
He is scheduled to speak to students at a Pasadena, California, middle school next month, encouraging them to stay in education.
