Jane Fonda to Play Ted Turner in Aaron Sorkin's New HBO Series?

Two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda has joined the cast of Aaron Sorkin's as-yet-untitled HBO newsroom drama, TVLine reports. The bit of casting news might not be so significant were it not for the role the former feminist icon is slated to play. According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Fonda's character in the hour-long series, which centers on the cable-news business and the colorful personalities that inhabit it, bears an uncanny resemblance to her media-mogul ex-husband, CNN founder Ted Turner. Sources say she has already begun work growing a mustache.

We can only imagine who'll be playing Rupert Murdoch.

Fonda, whose last major role was opposite Lindsay Lohan in Garry Marshall's 2007 masterpiece Georgia Rule, joins an all-star cast that includes Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill, Olivia Munn, and Sam Waterston.
