In an unprecedented event, Jason Segel has been cast in a Judd Apatow movie. The upcoming This is Forty (if they have indeed given in to the whole title thing) will take Knocked Up supporting characters Debbie (Leslie Mann) and Pete (Paul Rudd), a married couple in their forties, and, ostensibly, examine their rocky marriage and lives. In Knocked Up, Jason Segel played Jason, a friend and roommate to Ben (Seth Rogen) who took an immediate and overly zealous liking to Debbie upon meeting her. In This is Forty, he returns, now as a personal trainer with Debbie as his client.
This begs the question: which other Knocked Up characters will reprise? There is already word of Charlene Yi's return (she played Martin Starr's oddball girlfriend), so what of the others in that cluster of characters (those included would be Rogen, Starr, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel... of course, Katherine Heigl would be a logical returnee as well). Regardless of the logic, or lack thereof, behind any of these choices, any revivals would be more than welcome. This cast works best amongst one another, and I'm hopeful to see the whole cast back together again.
