HOLLYWOOD - Hip-hop mogul Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter has reportedly proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Beyonce Knowles.
According to British media reports, Carter cancelled several U.S. promotional appearances for his Roc-A-Fella empire and flew out to France last week to surprise the "Bootylicious" beauty with a romantic break in Cannes, where he allegedly popped the question.
Beyonce--who is currently in the U.K. as part of her world tour--accepted the proposal, and a source says the rapper has promised her "the biggest diamond she can fit on her finger."
The source adds, "This will be the hip-hop wedding to end all hip-hop weddings."
Earlier this year, the former Destiny's Child star gushed about her romance with Carter, saying: "I want to get married and really want a family--in a perfect world I'd have two boys and a girl. You know someone loves you by the way he treats you and respects you. Me and Jay respect each other."
The couple is said to be planning to marry in Hawaii later this year.
