HOLLYWOOD - David Hesterbey, the man accused of breaking into Jennifer Aniston's rentedMalibu home, has pleaded innocent to burglary and other charges.
The 48-year-old Californian was arrested on suspicion of trespassing last
week after he entered the beachfront house through an unlocked door,
reportedly searching for the former Friends star.
The 36-year-old actress was travelling back from Chicago, where she is
filming The Break-Up, when the incident happened.
Hesterbey pleaded not guilty to charges of first degree burglary and petty
theft, and is being held in custody with bail set at $70,000.
According to Los Angeles County District Attorney Jane Robinson, the petty
theft charge was due to Hesterbey allegedly taking a cab from Santa Barbara to
Malibu, but refusing to pay the driver.
A restraining order has been issued against him after Aniston filed a
petition - the hearing date for the order has been set for Sept. 14.
Meanwhile, a pre-trial hearing for the burglary and petty charges is
scheduled for Sept. 7.
Hesterbey faces up to six years behind bars if convicted.
