S5E1: Guys, guys, listen -- do you hear that? That's Italy breathing a sigh of relief as it bid arrivederci to the gang from Jersey Shore. And you know what that means: our favorite guidos are back in their homeland of New Jersey and all is right in the world. But these guys manage to get into some serious drama no matter what country they're in, which is why I decided to highlight some of my favorite OMG moments of the night. And let me tell you, this episode was full of them (but really we wouldn't want it any other way).
5. Nobody Wants To Room With The Situation
Since Mike seems to stick his nose into everyone else's business just to create drama, shockingly nobody wants to room with him. So, when he asks about the living situation, it is decided that everyone will stay in the same bedrooms they were in before their trip to Italy...which means Sammi and Ronnie are stuck with Mike again. And given everything that happened between Ronnie and Mike last season things are going to be awkward.
4. Snooki Drinks Pickle Juice Straight Out Of The Jar
And if you're thinking, "Hey, that sounds gross," you're right. Almost as soon as they got back to the house, Snooki pulled out a humongous jar of pickles and just started downing the juice, while admitting she didn't realize just how much she had missed her beloved pickles. So, I guess it's reassuring to see that staying in a foreign country didn't change her at all.
3. The Guys Go Tanning And Coin The Word 'Tanorexic'
Now that they're back, the guys decided to get the complete Jersey makeover, which means tanning, haircuts, the works -- and they couldn't be more excited. And yes, they called each other tanorexic, basically implying that they've been without tans for far too long. I know -- I was impressed by their ingenuity too.
2. Snooki Starts Drama With The Unit
To their surprise, the gang's family and friends throw them a surprise party at a place called Captain Hook's and everyone is there, including Jionni...and The Unit. This could be a very dangerous situation for Snooki since, according to Mike, The Unit is a prime witness to what supposedly went down between Mike and Snooki a few months back. But Snooki's never one to be threatened and immediately starts trash talking The Unit, while Mike whispers the word "stop" to her about a billion times. Oddly enough though, that didn't seem to have much of an affect, but it's nice to see him working on his vocabulary skills.
1. Deena Does The Most Awkward Thing Ever
Throughout the night, Deena is looking miserable because it looks like Pauly and Rider are about ready to go hook up and everyone knows Deena's always had a thing for Pauly. So naturally, she's feeling pretty sad and occasionally casts longing looks in his direction, which is fine and totally normal girl behavior. But then she does seriously THE MOST AWKWARD THING EVER in jealous girl history: she goes into the bedroom where Pauly and Rider are cuddling and just stares at them in total silence for what have to have been an eternity. She eventually got the hint and left, but wow...just wow.
Never a dull moment on the Shore, that's for sure. And I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to think Mike's telling the truth about the whole Snooki hookup now that potential witnesses are even coming into play. What do you think? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below!
