Johnny Knoxville caused a bomb scare at the Los Angeles International Airport Thursday morning when he tried to pass through security with a fake hand-grenade in his carry on bag.
Access Hollywood reports that authorities detained the serial-jokester on his way to a 7 a.m. flight to Miami, but released him when they “determined the hand-grenade had no explosive firing pin.”
The actor, real name Philip John Clapp, claimed he forgot the photo shoot prop was in his bag. Regardless, authorities will still file a misdemeanor criminal complaint with the Los Angeles City Attorney for bringing a prohibited item to the airport.
