Marine Corps sergeants aren't the only ones trying to snag a date with Hollywood's finest. This week, Lindsay Miller -- a 26-year-old woman with cancer -- became a YouTube sensation after posting a video on her blog, asking Joseph Gordon-Levitt out for a cup of coffee. According to her website, Miller was incredibly moved by the actor's performance as a cancer patient in 50/50 and felt like they would really hit it off together, since he seems to have a good handle on what she's experiencing.
But since running into the star seemed highly unlikely, she figured she should try giving him a shout-out on the Internet. She wrote, "Maybe YouTube can help…OK, I admit: It's ridiculous. And it feels like I'm making a big leap from being an anonymous cancer 'liver' a few months ago to now starring in my own video. But life is short. So, why not?" Miller then formally introduced herself on the video and did what seems to be a growing hobby this year, and asked him out on a date.
Further reports confirm Gordon-Levitt is aware of the YouTube invitation and has not ruled out the possibility of taking her up on the offer. When asked about Miller, the actor admitted that he hadn't seen her video yet but said he heard about it: "Two other people were telling me about this, but no I have not heard about it until then." But that doesn't mean he isn't interested in the idea and quickly added, "I'll have to watch it." Miller's wish might just come true after all.
