Katharine Hepburn leaves hospital

HOLLYWOOD - Actress Katharine Hepburn left a Connecticut hospital Thursday morning after receiving one week of treatment for a urinary tract infection, The Associated Press reports.

She was discharged just after 10 a.m. from Hartford Hospital and returned to her mansion in Old Saybrook, hospital spokesman James Battaglio said.

Hepburn had been expected to leave the hospital last weekend, but doctors wanted her to regain her strength before discharging the 94-year-old Hollywood legend.

Hepburn, of The African Queen and Woman of the Year fame, has received 12 Academy Award nominations, tying the all-time record, and won four times. She received the Oscars for her work in Morning Glory, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, The Lion in Winter and On Golden Pond.

Recent ailments that have plagued the much-adored actress include pneumonia, arthritis and Parkinson's-like tremors.
