Remember a few years back when Katherine Heigl decided she no longer wanted to be on Grey's Anatomy? Apparently she's now had a little change of heart. While promoting her new movie, One for the Money, the actress discussed with E! whether or not she'd ever be open to returning to the ABC hit show, and her answer was a resounding "Yes!" As most of you know, Heigl played the lovable, upbeat Dr. Izzie Stevens, who fought and conquered a highly cancerous brain tumor before completely disappearing off the face of the earth. But now she wants back on the show for a chance to tell the rest of her story.
According to Heigl, she's already asked to return to the show. She revealed the news exclusively to E!, saying, "I've told them I want to," adding, "I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is. I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she's doing now." And what exactly does she have in mind in regards to what her character would be doing these days? Heigl suggested, "My idea is that she actually like figures it out, and finds same success and does really well in a different hospital. She was always floundering you know, and so she was always one step behind the eight ball and I want to see that girl take some power back."
I get where she's coming from because it probably would make for an interesting storyline (Grey's fans would go nuts if Izzie were to return), but I just can't forgive her for leaving our beloved Alex Karev without any reason or explanation. She already broke his heart once and I'd hate to see her do it again. Plus, he's way too good for her now that he's saving infants and toddlers everyday; he doesn't need to worry about Izzie trying to win him back. Poor Karev's been through enough -- he deserves a new love story.
