Katie Holmes Hopes to 'Age Gracefully'

katie holmesKatie Holmes always manages to look her best both on and off the red carpet and has become a distinct fashion icon to the world.  The fashionista graces the August cover of In Style magazine and talks fashion do's and don'ts.  Holmes says, “I’m not afraid to try a new designer or do something trendy, but it has to look right on my body....you don’t want to look like a fashion victim!"  To prevent this from ever happening, Mrs. Cruise makes sure to avoid certain looks and even particular colors.  Holmes confesses, “Certain colors don’t work on me; yellow isn’t my friend. I don’t like big, pouffy sleeves. And some dresses, like if it has a big bow and skirt, are too old-ladyish on me. If I can wear it when I’m 80 I’m going to wait.”  Well I don't usually see any big bow dresses walking down the red carpet these days, but I definitely agree with the color yellow -- it doesn't look great on pale people (trust me, I know).

Speaking of turning 80, the actress hopes to "age gracefully" -- but if all else fails, there's always the Hollywood go-to solution -- cosmetic surgery.  Holmes claims, “But I don’t think I’m ever going to do my lips — my sisters would kill me!”  But for now, Katie doesn't have to worry about such things and can relish in her iconic status as a fashion guru.  Oh, and you'll never guess the actresses favorite splurge item to buy....underwear!  She comments, “They make you feel special when you put them on in the morning...even when I was a little girl I loved my ‘days of the week’ pairs. I love the hot pink ones, that makes my day!”  Does your hubby know about this?  It's nice to know she can appreciate the simple things in life, which is something that hopefully will never go out of style.
