Last season’s
American Idol runner-up,
Adam Lambert, has been confirmed as next week’s mentor.
The glam rocker, who finished second last year behind
Kris Allen, will advise season 9’s eight remaining contestants on the April 13 episode and then perform his song “Whattaya Want from Me” on the following night’s results show.
There’s no word just yet as to what the theme of next week’s performances will be, but with the shouty Lambert involved, it’s safe to expect something other than, say, country.
So … is it too soon for Lambert, himself only one year removed from being at the judges' mercy, to mentor the field of eight? Should Kris Allen have been chosen instead?
