'Last Exorcism' Sequel Officially on the Way

ALTLast year's The Last Exorcism was one of those found-footage PG-13 horror movies that did well at the box office, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that its sequel is officially in the works.

Instead of bringing back the original's writers, producers have opted to hire relative newcomer Damien Chazelle to pen the screenplay. Shooting is set to begin this fall.

No moviegoers should be familiar with Chazelle -- at least not yet: The 25-year-old Harvard has written and sold a pair of hot-property thriller scripts. His biggest gig to date, however, will clearly be the follow-up to Last Exorcism, which scared up over $62 million worldwide (about $60.5 more than its budget).
