Latin Grammy winners announced

HOLLYWOOD - It certainly occurred without much fanfare. After several delays and numerous changes of venue, the winners of the 2nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards were announced on Tuesday at Los Angeles' Conga Room.

Hosts Jimmy Smits and Paul Rodriguez read the list of prize winners, revealing the day's big winner, pop singer Alejandro Sanz. Sanz took home four awards, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Male Vocal Album for "El Alma Al Aire."

Diva Christina Aguilera, who had been expected to co-host with Smits before a bout with the flu forced Rodriguez to step in, won the award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album for "Mi Reflejo."

The day's other big winner was Colombian newcomer Juanes, who received the nod for Best New Artist and Best Rock Song ("Fijate Bien"), and also performed at the event.

The show was broadcast only on Yahoo!, which provided live, streaming footage of the proceedings.
