HOLLYWOOD - Debonair actor Hugh Grant has been single for two years since his break-up with model/actress Elizabeth Hurley, and he isn't very happy about it.Reuters reports the 41-year-old Grant told London's Daily Telegraph Friday that his younger years brought "seduction and romance and chase," but now he finds himself being careful about what he tells women.
"When you are a celebrity, you discover that you are no longer the pursuer, but the pursued...you have to think about...how wary do you have to be that the women you meet aren't concerned more with your fame and celebrity status," Grant says. Poor guy.
Apparently, fellow stars don't appeal to him, either.
Grant has played roles opposite some of Hollywood's most attractive leading ladies (Notting Hill with Julia Roberts, Bridget Jones's Diary with Renee Zellweger, Nine Months with Julianne Moore), and he has never dated any of them.
(It is worth mentioning, however, he attended Sunday's Academy Awards with Sandra Bullock, even though the two said they were not dating.)
So while he waits for his Cinderella, Grant seems comfortable enough maintaining close contact with his old flame, Hurley, whom he still speaks with "almost every day."
Look for Grant's upcoming film, About a Boy, to be released May 17.
