Liverpool remembers Lennon

HOLLYWOOD - Former Beatle member John Lennon will forever be remembered by his native Liverpool when the city renames its airport Monday in his honor. "Throughout the world, John Lennon is synonymous with Liverpool," Liverpool's airport chairman Robert Hough told Reuters. "The new name places the airport firmly on the international map," he said. The airport will not only be named after the musician, but it also will carry a new slogan, "Above us only sky," borrowed from Lennon's lyrics to his epic "Imagine." Hough said Lennon's wife, Yoko Ono, will attend the inauguration on Monday. Ono said that she was proud to be in attendance celebrating one of Liverpool's greatest men, Reuters reported. An airport spokeswoman said the new name should increase investment and tourism for the city.
