HOLLYWOOD - Lindsay Lohan has been ordered to give a deposition for a negligence lawsuit filed against her earlier this year, after crashing her car in October 2005.

The actress is being sued by victim Raymundo Ortega for crashing her Mercedes-Benz into his red van in Hollywood, after allegedly drinking at celebrity hotspot The Ivy.

Lohan's attorneys have been attempting to have plans for the star to give evidence on videotape scrapped, amid fears the footage could later be sold on for a large amount of cash, reports TMZ.com.

They claimed, "If a single picture of Ms. Lohan can sell for thousands of dollars, a videotape of the deposition will undoubtedly sell for tens of thousands of dollars, or more."

But on Wednesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Stern dismissed their argument and ruled Lohan must give video evidence.

The 21-year-old has filed her own countersuit against Ortega, alleging he and a number of unspecified defendants caused the accident.

A trial date of April 7 has been set for both cases.
