Lindsay Lohan Recovering After Emergency Surgery

Lindsay Lohan
HOLLYWOOD - Lindsay Lohan is back in the hospital after having emergency surgery to remove her appendix yesterday.

The 20-year-old star was diagnosed with appendicitis after feeling ill on Wednesday and sought medical attention.

Her representative Leslie Sloane confirmed her condition to People magazine, saying, "She does have appendicitis, and she is getting her appendix removed."

Sloane said the Mean Girls star was recovering and resting comfortably in a Los Angeles-area hospital.

Just days ago, Lohan was celebrating the New Year in Miami, where she was seen chatting with ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.

This isn't the first health scare for the star--she fractured her wrist in September after a fall at a party in New York City and was hospitalized in July after becoming "overheated and dehydrated."

After a New Year's Eve celebration in 2005, Lohan was admitted to a Miami hospital suffering from a severe asthma attack.
