Lohan's Grandmother Speaks Out

Lindsay Lohan at the Sak's FIfth Avenue launches the 10th annual key to the cure charity shopping weekend benefiting EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund held at the Top of the Rock in Rockefeller Plaza
Lindsay Lohan's grandmother is delighted that the actress has split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson, and she's urging Lindsay to reach out to her extended family as she deals with the break-up.

Marilyn Lohan insists her granddaughter should never have been dating the DJ in the first place, and now the actress' entire family is keen to help her as she gets back to single life.

The worried grandmother tells People.com, "We'd all like to reach out to her. We're all here for her and we'd love to see her. Me, as a grandmother, I'd like to try and help her out, but she's not here (in Long Island), she's in L.A.

"I think she needs her family in her life, but they're not. They should be. I haven't seen her in over a year. I don't know what happened. I'm heartbroken."

And Grandma Lohan insists her granddaughter's fast rise to the top in Hollywood was her eventual downfall: "What happened is that it was too much too fast. And she was on her own too early. She was too young.

"They get into that party scene. It's very hard for them."
