HOLLYWOOD - Eva Longoria fought back tears as she visited striking writers on the picket line in Hollywood on Tuesday--because she's worried about her friends' salaries.

The strike began on Monday and Desperate Housewives writer and creator Marc Cherry has already stopped production to join his fellow Writers Guild of America union members.

Actress Longoria, who will join her boss, Cherry, on the picket lines on Thursday delivered pizza to the striking writers and told TV reporters, "I care about my hair and makeup artist who can't make ends meet if they don't have a paycheck.

"We don't support a strike; we support a resolution.

"Our show is shutting down. Tomorrow we are done and we're gonna be on the line."

But Longoria's Desperate Housewives costar James Denton insists not all the cast was supportive of the striking writers--one felt it would have no effect on her until he explained that no writing would mean no work.

In an interview with an Arizona radio station, the actor said, "I felt the need to point out to her that it was going to cost her $26,000 a day."
