Madonna VIP packages going fast
HOLLYWOOD - Tickets for a special VIP package to Madonna's sold-out Aug. 2 and 3 concerts at Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey were being offered at $450 a pop, according to the New York Times. At $200 over the cost of a regular ticket, the packages include parking, an unidentified souvenir and a VIP party. But concertgoers should not expect Madonna to be there. The party will instead consist of a pre-concert buffet inside the arena. The extra revenue goes directly to the concert hall, promoter and Madonna herself, the paper reports. Some industry observers are calling the packages a form of legalized scalping with few benefits to the consumers.
