Steve Martin Hosts Record Number of ‘Saturday Night Live’ Shows

Steve Martin
HOLLYWOOD - Veteran comedian Steve Martin made history on Saturday, when he hosted a record 14th episode of sketch show Saturday Night Live.

The Parenthood star opened the show with a skit involving actor Alec Baldwin, who has hosted 13 shows, preparing to host SNL himself in a bid to break Martin's record.

The sketch saw Martin sneak into Baldwin's dressing room and strangle him, wrap his body in a carpet and throw him out the window, landing in the middle of the famous Rockefeller Center ice skating rink.

The comedian also portrayed author James Frey in a spoof of his appearance on Oprah, and played musical guest star Prince's personal chef.
