HOLLYWOOD - Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe checked himself into a Los Angeles rehab facility for alcohol abuse earlier this week.
The actor--who is dating Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle--is said to have voluntarily admitted himself into an undisclosed treatment clinic on Monday, following several nights of heavy partying at the Mondrian Hotel in Hollywood last weekend.
A representative for the 28-year-old confirmed the reports this morning and asked for the press to respect his privacy while he battles his alcohol demons, according to the New York Post.
The statement says, "On Monday, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues. He realized he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately.
"The actor hopes that the media will allow him the privacy to deal properly with his treatment."
